Then it's curbed versus curbless: a zero-threshold shower is clean and barrier-free but demands recessed framing and a precise slope, which is real labor. The extras — a bench, recessed niches, a second showerhead, grab-bar blocking for later — have to be framed in from the start rather than added over finished tile, and we choose the glass and drain early because both affect how the pan and walls are built.
