When it comes to shower remodeling, there are a plethora of styles and options to choose from. This can be either a fun adventure — allowing you to experiment with new colors, materials, and fixtures — or a daunting task to make all the decisions. So, let's break down the most popular types of shower remodeling to help you better comprehend what JDI Construction can offer:
Traditional shower remodels often come to mind when we think of shower remodeling. These remodels often involve redoing everything from the showerhead to the flooring and interior walls. This type of remodel could include applying new tiles, replacing the fixtures, changing the showerhead, installing new doors, or even a total overhaul.
Walk-in showers are increasingly popular due to their seamless blend of functionality and minimalist aesthetics. A walk-in shower remodel would typically encompass the installation of shower pans, glass panels, a shower valve, and a new drainage system. And for the sake of aesthetics, one could opt for a curbless walk-in shower which provides a sleek and uninterrupted look.
This type of shower remodel is ideal for those who seldom use their tub and instead, prefer the convenience and spaciousness of a shower. JDI Construction can help you convert an unused or outdated bathtub into a beautiful, modern shower. A tub-to-shower conversion usually involves removing the old tub, reworking the plumbing, creating a new shower base, and installing new walls and fixtures.
A wet room is essentially a completely waterproof bathroom with a shower and no enclosure – typically, the showerhead is installed directly into the ceiling. This type of shower remodeling involves meticulous sealing and tiling to create a room that is entirely moisture-resistant. Wet rooms can be incredibly chic and contemporary, offering a spa-like experience right at home.
Transform your ordinary bathroom into a luxurious spa-like oasis. These remodels prioritize relaxation and rejuvenation, often incorporating features such as steam showers, multiple showerheads, built-in seats, mood lighting, and even integrated sound systems for playing soothing music.
With aging in place becoming a significant trend, accessible shower remodels have become a popular choice. These remodels focus on creating an environment that’s safe and easy to use for everyone, particularly for people with limited mobility. They often include elements such as curbless showers, grab bars, sliding doors, built-in seating, and hand-held showerheads.
This type of shower remodeling focuses on using sustainable materials and installing water-efficient fixtures. This might include low-flow showerheads, shower timers, recycled tiles, and non-toxic sealants and paints.
Tile shower remodels involve replacing or adding tile to the shower. With a wide range of colors, textures, and materials available, such as porcelain, ceramic, glass, and stone, the possibilities are nearly endless.
Remember, choosing the right type of shower remodel depends on your individual needs, preferences, and budget. At JDI Construction, we’re dedicated to helping you sort through these options and find the perfect solution to create your ideal shower space.
