We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with Art, Eric, and their exceptional crew on our home remodel in Vancouver, WA. What began as a 3,860 sq ft home is now over 5,000 sq ft of thoughtfully designed, fully customized space—including a gym, sauna, guest/art studio, and a beautiful new scullery. But what truly sets this experience apart is how it was built.

Every detail—every finish, fixture, and design choice—was exactly what we envisioned. And that’s thanks to this team’s unmatched dedication, respect, and craftsmanship.

Art and Eric empowered me to design the home I truly wanted. They listened, collaborated, and brought my vision to life with precision and patience. But beyond the design, what touched us most was the character of every person who came through our home.

Their subcontractors are not just talented—they’re kind, respectful, and deeply rooted in personal and family values. They treated our home with care, always went above and beyond, and showed up with an incredible sense of pride in their individual trades. Every single person, from tile to trim, stone, paint etc. poured their heart into the work.

Even when we faced personal challenges, the team never gave up. They showed up. They finished strong. And we received final occupancy on a home we love more than we could have imagined. We are just getting settled into the home and will be getting photos of every detail available to clients. We welcome Art and the team to bring anyone over in the Vancouver/Clark County Portland area if they'd like to see the quality of the work.

We will have the entire project photographed for viewing soon! There are also the bigger questions that people have like, how much does it cost, what about permits, etc. Those were my biggest questions when we started this. We passed inspection on all of our permits and we had no issues whatsoever. We had to remove two large trees to build the scullery and that process is fine. If you remove trees you simply plant new ones at the end of the project. We are planting two magnolias this week, super easy process. The other big questions people often have is where do I put my stuff? We used PODS and that worked amazing. Regarding budget: The pricing for everything is within your budget. My biggest recommendation is regarding your millwork package. It's great to pick that on time because that is important and takes time to get delivered. The other item that it's great to order is any kind of specialty doors. If you want a quick remodel select in stock items and you will have a fast project. The homeowners design choices really are what dictates that because Art and the team are fast and exceptional. There isn’t anything this team can’t do—and they do it all with integrity, intention, and talent. Thank you, Art, Eric, and every craftsman who touched this home. You didn’t just renovate our house you made our entire home full of love, joy and function.

My experience with JDI was stellar! All of the workmen were very skilled and polite; anything short of perfection was not allowed. Alex was always considerate, always available for questions and surveyed the job daily. Violet, was always available as well and brought me samples of tile and answered questions as well. The final project, a new kitchen, is beautiful and looks like something out of Pinterest or a magazine. The price was reasonable, the job was done in a few weeks and I couldn't be happier! My son who is an architect said that finding a company like JDI was almost unheard of today and that I was very lucky to find them. lI couldn't agree more.

When we purchased our home in La Center, the downstairs only had two rooms and one bathroom. Upstairs had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a mudroom. We knew we wanted to transform the downstairs into a comfortable living space for my mother-in-law, and finding the right contractor was extremely important to us.
That’s when we hired Art and his team, and honestly, we could not have asked for a better person to work with.
From our very first meeting, Art was friendly, patient, an incredible listener, and truly understood what we wanted. He took the time to sit down with us, go through the entire remodeling process, discuss the timeline and pricing, and answer all of our questions. We had multiple meetings throughout the project, and his communication and follow-up were outstanding.
His team did an amazing job. Everything downstairs was completely transformed. They remodeled the existing bathroom, added another beautiful bathroom with a gorgeous shower, relocated and redesigned the space to create a master-style room, and even added a full kitchen downstairs.
What started as a downstairs area became essentially an ADU for my mother-in-law. ❤️ It has made our family life so much easier. Grandma can comfortably have her own space downstairs while our family lives upstairs, but we are still all under one roof.
What impressed us most was how involved Art was throughout the entire process. He went with us to select tile and countertops, helped us make decisions, made sure the pricing was fair, and personally followed up to make sure everything was done correctly. Even after the project was completed, he continued checking in with Grandma to make sure she was doing well. His team has continued to be just as caring.
That level of care is something you don’t always find.
Our home is beautiful, completely remodeled, and feels brand new. More importantly, we’re grateful to have found someone who cared about our family—not just the project.

JDI did a beautiful job remodeling our kitchen/living room. This was our first remodel so we didn’t know what to expect.

They initially estimated that it would take 8-12 weeks. I believe it was completely done in about 6. It was amazingly quick.

Generally, the workers were very friendly and worked hard. Every time our project manager told us someone was coming the next day and the time frame, they showed up. That is unheard of in this industry.

At the end of the remodel, I shared some constructive feedback with our project manager along with much praise. He was very receptive and appreciative.

Their workmanship was second to none. Having renovated 4 homes in 4 decades, my husband & I are not new to the process. Our design plans required taking our dated kitchen down to the studs, changing the awkward footprint, building custom cabinetry & installing new appliances.

We got 3 bids, all of which were within our budget. But JDI had a plan to finish the job in 2 months, while the others required 3-4 months to complete. Their schedule was aggressive but seemed doable.

Their project mgr, Eric, was very buttoned-up and a good communicator. His crews were on time and, when necessary, worked on weekends to stay on schedule. They are true craftsmen & our kitchen is beautiful!

JDI renovated our guest bathroom after the last owners had done too many dyi projects there. Adding a new backsplash, tub, fixtures and a toilet plus new floors and fresh paint. Walking in there now it feels like a spa! The craftsmen were courteous, professional and always on time. Their attention to detail and commitment to a good final product is evident. We had JDI remodel a hall bath. Everyone was great and easy to work with. Stephanie helped us with the design and picking out and orderinhy materials. Once we started Eugene was the Project Manager and communicated with us daily through out the project. Most often he would stop by at least once a day. Alex did most of the work including the tile. He is very skilled. At the end of each day the areas was cleaned up and construction trash removed. They worked very hard to keep the project on schedule.
