A few decisions worth making early

The choices that drive the budget and shape the floor plan belong at the front of the project, not in the middle of it. The one we field most is whether to keep the tub or convert to a walk-in shower — in plenty of Gresham homes the tub has become storage for bath toys and towels, and handing that space to a bigger shower transforms how the bathroom works for a busy household. Then there's whether to go curbless: a zero-threshold shower calls for extra framing and careful sloping, but it looks clean and stays easy to step into as the years add up.
