A few decisions worth making early

The choices that most affect the budget and the floor plan are the ones to settle before demolition, not during it. Chief among them: whether to keep the tub or convert to a walk-in shower. In many Oregon City homes the tub has become a shelf for towels, and giving that footprint to a generous shower is often the single change that makes the room feel new. There's also the question of a curbless, zero-threshold shower — worth the extra framing when you plan to stay put, both for the seamless look and for easy access down the road.
